'The Marvels': See Brie Larson In New Trailer

Brie Larson will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “The Marvels,” the much-anticipated sequel to 2019’s “Captain Marvel.” Larson will share the spotlight with fellow female MCU stars Teyonah Parris from “WandaVision” and Iman Vellani from “Ms Marvel.”

The upcoming film takes place after the events of the Disney+ series “Ms Marvel,” which introduced Vellani as Kamala Khan, a.k.a. the young, New Jersey superhero Ms Marvel. The movie will showcase the three women’s unique set of transformative powers.

Prior to the first “The Marvels” trailer release, the first look at the film was shown exclusively to panel attendees at the 2022 D23 Expo. The initial footage offers insight into the aftermath of the “Ms Marvel” post-credits scene, where Kamala seemingly swapped places with Carol.

The teaser trailer of “The Marvels” shows Captain Monica Rambeau (Parris) working as an astronaut for Saber Space Station alongside Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). When Monica hits a jump point in the space continuum, she transforms into Ms Marvel, confirming the link between her, Carol, and Kamala.

Marvel Studios confirmed the production of “The Marvels” in July 2019, and the film’s production began in early 2020. The movie is also a continuation of the Ms Marvel Disney+ series.

Originally, “The Marvels” was set to release on July 8, 2022, but the release date was pushed back to November 11, 2022, and then to February 17, 2023. However, it was later swapped with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s release, as the production of the latter movie, was further along.

“The Marvels” was then scheduled to release in theatres on July 28, 2023, but was pushed back for a fourth time to November 10, 2023. The delay is likely due to Marvel Studios’ decision to give more time between each new entry in the MCU.

Although “The Marvels” would have faced some substantial competition if it kept its July release, it will now be entering a packed November. The movie will be released between Dune: Part Two and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Marvel Studios has also unveiled a teaser poster for the film on Twitter alongside the new fall release date. Fans are excited to see the three women superheroes come together in “The Marvels,” which promises to be an epic addition to the MCU.
