With 21 Grammy nominations and 5 Grammys wins, plus the Oscar she received last year for her song “Fight For You,” it’s clear the multi-talented singer, Gabriella Wilson, also known as H.E.R, has done extremely well for herself.

EGOT, an acronym for the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards is the designation given to people who have won all four of the major entertainment awards. Respectively, these awards honour outstanding achievements in television, recording, film, and Broadway theatre. As of 2023, only 17 people have accomplished this feat.

H.E.R

At the start of her career, H.E.R once told People Magazine, that her long-term goal, is to earn the EGOT Status. Well with her recent Emmy award, she’s well on her way! Once she earns a Tony, she’ll be joining Whoopi Goldberg and Jennifer Hudson, Black women who’ve already earned all four awards.

From being the first Black female artist to launch her Fender Signature Guitar, to being a Disney princess in ABC’s Beauty and the Beast, it’s safe to call H.E.R a Jack of all trades. Her outstanding talent landed her the life-changing opportunity to work with the Obamas on their animated Netflix series, ‘We The People’, earning her an Emmy and getting her one step closer to EGOT.
