Doyin David, a licensed medical radiographer and an ex-housemate of the ‘Big Brother Naija Season 7’ Reality Tv show, is releasing a documentary that explores ‘the effects of sexual assault’.

The documentary is set to challenge stigmatization surrounding sexual assault victims and to also raise awareness on how to support the victims of sexual assault, to enable them to become comfortable enough to share their experiences. The movie will premier online on January 7th, 2023.

“There are growing worries about how societal anxiety may affect people’s emotional well-being given the situation of the country and the rest of the world.

We no longer maintain the status quo in the face of these concerning views. As a result, that became the driving force behind the production of this movie.

The best way to tell the tale is to let others experience it and witness what happens to the victims and why the abusers continue to be champions. So I decided to do more than just give a seminar”

I chose to embark on this project with @the_africa100 because I will never understand why it is more shameful to be raped than to be a rapist. To anyone who has been through this…

It is important to remember that it is not your fault or your responsibility. The abuser is the only person responsible.

You’re not a victim for sharing your story. You are a survivor setting the world on fire with your truth and you never know who needs your light, your warmth, and raging courage. You are not what happened to you. You are what you choose to become.

I hope everyone who has ever been in this position (male/female) remembers that it is important to speak up and stand up for yourself even if it means standing alone.

Doyin ended her post with thanking  her cast members, she said :Special recognition to the other amazing casts (Muyiwa Ademola, Mojisola Adebanjo, Adeyemo Olamilekan, Binta Ayo Mogaji, and others) that embarked on this project with me, thank you for lending your voices for a good cause.

I hope you all enjoy my very first attempt at acting and movie production as we continue to raise awareness against sexual assault.”
