Gabriel Afolayan, Adunni Ade, Dorathy Bachor, and Bimbo Manue are ready for action in the new Netflix film, “Ijogbon,” directed by non-other than the award-winning Kunle Afolayan.

Sam Dede, Tana Adelana, Yemi Solade, Yemi Sodimu, Femi Branch, Funky Mallam, and some young actors, including Ruby Akubueze, Ojuolape Kayode, Fawaz of Ikorodu Bois, and Oluwaseyi Ebiesuwa, will also star in the film written by Tunde Babalola.

“Ijogbon” is a coming-of-age family adventure about four teenagers (3 boys and 1 girl) from a rural village in southwest Nigeria who stumble on a bag full of diamonds and conceal it, much to their regret.

Kunle Afolayan, is a Nigerian actor, producer, and director. He is widely credited for elevating the quality of Nollywood movies through larger budgets, shooting on 35mm, releasing in cinemas, and improving cliché Nollywood storylines.

After starting his film career as an actor in the 1999 political drama Saworoide, Afoloayan made his directorial debut in 2006 with ‘Irapada’, a Nigerian supernatural thriller, which won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Film in an African Language. His follow-on directing credits include The ‘Figurine’, ‘Phone Swap’, ‘October 1’, and ‘Citation’.

“Ijogbon” is Kunle Afolayan’s second Netflix original film, “ANIKULAPO” released last year, which was his Netflix debut. “ANIKULAPO” gained over 8,730,000 global views, securing a spot in Nigeria’s top 10 grossing films.

This would be Dorathy Bachor’s second movie role, following her appearance, in the 2022 blockbuster, ‘Brotherhood’ with her playing Kamsi, the wife of officer Wale (Played by Folarin Falana aka Falz).
