Somto BisinaMulti- Award winning actress, Mercy Aigbe, has revealed her conversion to Islam and Islamic name at a Ramadan lecture and special prayers hosted by herself and her husband, Kazeem Adeoti.
The actress made this known in a video interview, that is now viral on Social Media, where she introduced herself in her new faith.
“Insha Allah, My new name is Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti. Meenah with the H,” the actress said.
The viral interview done at the Ramadan lecture which saw stars in attendance on Saturday, has since sparked mixed reactions among internet users.

Recall that the actress married Mr Adeoti in 2022 and was accused of extramarital affair while she was married to her ex, Lanre Gentry.
But Mercy Aigbe denied the allegation, saying she had constantly been lied against despite explaining her situation and telling her side of the story.
Mercy Aigbe’s Career as Actress
Mercy Aigbe had kicked off her acting career by starring in some soap operas, including the popular TV drama series “Papa Ajasco.” Professionally, she joined the Nollywood industry in 2006 and acted in the movie ‘Ara’ which brought her into limelight. ‘Ara,’ was then a new movie produced by Remi Olupo in Ibadan, Oyo State. She founded “Mercy Aigbe Gentry School of Drama” in 2016.
She is best known for her Yoruba indigenous movies, Aigbe was born on January 1, 1978. She is director, fashionista and businesswoman.
