In a recent podcast interview with Million Dollaz Worth Of Game on June 12, 2023, the renowned singer delved into the overwhelming sadness that engulfs him each day since Ifeanyi’s untimely passing.

The heart-wrenching incident occurred on October 30, 2022, when Ifeanyi tragically drowned in a pool at Davido’s home in Lagos.

The loss left the artist devastated, grappling with unimaginable pain and sorrow. However, amid this emotional turmoil, Davido found solace in his music, using it as a medium to express his deepest emotions.

His highly-anticipated album, Timeless, became an outlet for his grief, surprising many who expected melancholic tracks. Instead, Davido delivered vibrant and energetic songs, channeling his pain into a powerful artistic expression.

Behind the facade of strength, the artist revealed that he still sheds tears every morning, silently mourning the loss of his beloved son. He confessed, “I miss him every day; tears roll down my cheeks each morning, even though you can’t see it.”

Despite his personal struggle, Davido acknowledges the responsibility he has towards his loved ones, particularly Ifeanyi’s mother.

He understands the importance of being strong for them and his global fan base. Davido expressed, “My son is watching over me. Besides supporting his mom, my primary duty, I must also be a source of strength for the world.”

The music superstar finds solace in the belief that Ifeanyi and his late mother are joyfully dancing together in heaven.

This belief provides him with a glimmer of hope in the darkest moments, fuelling his determination to keep pushing forward.

Davido attributes his ability to rise above his grief to his unwavering faith in God. He firmly believes that his recovery journey is a testament to God’s intervention, stating, “People witnessing my recovery journey see that it’s God’s doing. My wife and I relied on faith, and God proved His existence.”

Davido’s journey of triumph over tragedy serves as an inspiration to many facing their own hardships. Through his music and unwavering faith, he continues to navigate the complexities of grief, finding strength in the memory of his son.

While the pain of loss remains, Davido’s resilience and commitment to his loved ones and fans demonstrate the power of hope and the capacity for healing.
