Recall that in October 2022, Asa issued a copyright infringement notice to Joeboy, over his recently-released song, “Contour”, over claims that the composition of the song was originally recorded by her and the producer of the song “Tempoe”, earlier in September 2020 during a recording session.

Through her legal counsel, Asa made a notice to Joeboy via mail, which was shared by Joeboy on his Instagram story on 3rd October 2022, revealing that Asa demanded the sum of N300 million and gave a 24-hour ultimatum for the song to be removed from all digital streaming platforms. Asa through her management also asked for a 60 per cent publishing split on the song, and a written apology, as seen in the notice.
After establishing himself as one of Afrobeats’ hitmakers, Joeboy has continued to dazzle listeners with his chart-topping music that has taken his fame beyond the shores of Nigeria.
‘Body & Soul’ is set for release on January 20, 2023, and it will be one of the lead-up singles to Joeboy’s upcoming sophomore album.
