Nollywood Star Kunle Remi Responds To AMVCA Nomination Snub

Nigerian actor, producer, and entrepreneur Kunle Remi recently took to Instagram to address his absence from the nomination list for the highly anticipated 9th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2023.

The nominees for the prestigious awards were revealed by popular TV personalities Bisola Aiyeola and Adjetey Anang on Sunday, but to the surprise of many, Remi’s name was noticeably missing from the list, despite his outstanding performance as ‘Saro’ in the movie ‘Anikulapo,’ which received an impressive 16 nominations.

Following the revelation, some Nigerian movie enthusiasts expressed their astonishment at Remi’s absence from the ‘Best Actor’ category in the AMVCA nomination list. However, Remi responded with grace and appreciation for the unwavering support from his fans and fellow colleagues.

He took to Instagram on Monday to extend his congratulations to his peers who were nominated for this year’s AMVCA Awards and even light-heartedly joked about winning his category on May 20, the date of the award ceremony, if he had been included in the list of nominees.

In his post, Remi wrote, “I have been seeing all the tags after the AMVCA nomination announcement. It would be nonchalant not to appreciate the love, calls and messages. Thank you kindred.”

He also added, “First of all, congratulations to all my friends/colleagues. This year won’t be great without y’all’s amazing work and effort. God save una, cos if I Dey the categories I for win (Joke) before una say otherwise. Let the best man win.”

Kunle Remi, whose birth name is Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi, is a versatile Nigerian talent known for his multifaceted career as an actor, producer, filmmaker, content creator, host, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and model. He has made notable appearances in various projects such as Falling, Family Forever, Tinsel, and Anikulapo, Prophetess, showcasing his wide-ranging skills and versatility as a performer.

Remi’s achievements also include winning the 7th edition of Gulder’s Ultimate Search in 2010, further highlighting his prowess and success in the entertainment industry.
