Innoson Challenges JAMB, Scholarship Stand

The management of Innoson Automobile Company has expressed its reservations regarding the recent allegations made by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) against Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme.

In a surprising turn of events, the company conducted an independent verification and found evidence that challenges JAMB’s claims.

According to the Head of Corporate Communications at Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe, during an interview on Monday in Onitsha, the company discovered that Mmesoma had obtained a score of 362 when her result was printed.

This revelation raises doubts about the validity of JAMB’s allegations. Osigwe further revealed that Innoson Automobile Company had awarded Mmesoma a prestigious N3 million scholarship based on her purported achievement as the highest scorer.

However, he clarified that the scholarship offer would still be upheld if Mmesoma is proven innocent in the ongoing investigation by JAMB. “It is strange to us because we did our independent verification and found out that Mmesoma Ejikeme scored 362 when we printed her result,” stated Osigwe. “When it was claimed that she was the highest, we waited for JAMB to come and clarify it, but they did not, and the media was publishing that she was the highest.”

The company had eagerly anticipated any counterclaims or clarifications from JAMB regarding Mmesoma’s alleged manipulation of her result.

However, since no such response was received, Innoson proceeded to grant her the scholarship under the assumption that she was indeed the highest scorer. The recent claims by JAMB, therefore, caught the company off guard.

Osigwe emphasized that Innoson Automobile Company is currently conducting its own investigation to determine the veracity of JAMB’s allegations. Should it be established that Mmesoma intentionally manipulated her result, the company will withdraw the scholarship.

Conversely, if it is found that JAMB made an error in awarding her the score or subsequently revised it to 249, the scholarship will remain valid.

During this period of investigation, Osigwe advised Mmesoma not to panic, assuring her that a thorough examination will be conducted to uncover the truth.

He reiterated that even if she is proven innocent of the allegations, irrespective of whether she scored the highest or not, the scholarship will still be honored by Innoson Automobile Company.

In a surprising twist of events, JAMB accused Mmesoma Ejikeme of inflating her score from 249 to 362, presenting herself as the top scorer for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The examination body alleged that she manipulated her result to deceive the public and fraudulently obtain a scholarship and other accolades. JAMB further declared its intention to revoke her certificate and pursue legal action against her.

As this controversy unfolds, it remains imperative to await the conclusive findings of Innoson Automobile Company’s independent investigation. The truth must prevail, and justice should be served to all parties involved.
