Brymo Confeses To Asking Simi For Sexual Favours, Adekunle Gold Replies

In the world of music, collaborations between artists often lead to a beautiful blend of talents and creativity. However, a recent revelation by singer-songwriter Brymo has shed light on a disturbing and controversial practice that has raised eyebrows within the industry.

In a series of tweets, Brymo openly admitted to attempting to have sexual relationships with female artists in exchange for collaboration, exposing a darker side of the music world.

Brymo’s reputation has been marred by a history of unpopular antics that have frequently sparked debates and controversies. But this latest disclosure has left many shocked and disappointed. It all started with a fan suggesting that Brymo should have been featured on Adekunle Gold‘s album.

Brymo responded by revealing that there was a previous attempt at collaboration with Adekunle Gold that didn’t come to fruition.

However, the bombshell came when he disclosed that he had also proposed a collaboration to Simi, under the condition that they become intimate beforehand.

The tweet stirred a firestorm of criticism, with many accusing Brymo of perpetuating an all-too-common issue within the music industry—men using their positions of power to demand sexual favors from female artists in exchange for career opportunities.

This practice, known as “casting couch culture,” has been a long-standing concern in various creative fields, including music.

Brymo attempted to clarify his statement, expressing remorse for his past actions and claiming that his intention was not to exploit or disrespect anyone.

He mentioned that he was merely seeking a unique and intimate experience while collaborating with a female artist, a sentiment he had also shared with Simi. However, his explanation fell short for many, as they saw his behaviour as part of a more extensive problem affecting women in the music industry.

In response to the controversy, Adekunle Gold, whose name was inadvertently dragged into the conversation, addressed Brymo’s actions. Telling him to be respectful of his wife and family.

The issue highlighted by Brymo’s revelation extends beyond the boundaries of his personal actions, shining a spotlight on a pervasive problem that women in the industry have faced for far too long. It underscores the need for a cultural shift within the music world, one that promotes equality, mutual respect, and merit-based collaboration.
