BREAKING: Funke Akindele’s Mum Is Dead

It is a heartbreaking time for beloved Nollywood actress and politician, Funke Akindele as she loses her beloved mother. The actress’ older sister Olubunmi Akindele announced the death in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement read: “It is with heavy hearts, but in total submission to God Almighty that the ADEBANJO and AKINDELE families announce the passing of their daughter, mother, grandmother and sister, DR. R B ADEBANJO-Akindele, which occurred on Tuesday 07 February 2023”.

The devastating news is coming months after, Funke Akindele Bello had penned a sweet birthday message to her mother in celebration of her birthday.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, June 18, Funke Akindele appreciated her mother for being so selfless and kind.

She noted how the lessons and mentorship she has given her has helped shaped her to the woman she is today.

She prayed for many more years for her in health and wealth.

“My sweet mummy I love you mum!?? Thank you for being so selfless and kind. Your lessons and mentorship shaped who I am today. I am forever grateful mom. I wish you many more years on earth in good health and wealth ma….”.

Funke Akindele has however not made an official statement on the passing of her mother.

May her gentle soul begin its rest eternal in peace. Amen. Obsequies in honour of her passing shall be announced in due course.”
