Chef Hilda Cooks Over 150 Meals In 68 Hours

Chef Hilda Baci Bassey, renowned TV producer, actress, and foodpreneur, is currently at the verge of breaking a culinary history.

On Thursday, 11th May 2023, she commenced a four-day cooking marathon at Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos, with the ambitious goal of breaking the existing Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

This remarkable event aims to spotlight Chef Hilda’s culinary prowess by showcasing a wide range of local and international recipes, placing Nigeria firmly on the global culinary map.

The countdown began the moment Chef Hilda turned on the cooker, and the entire cook-a-thon is being broadcasted live on YouTube and Instagram.

At just 27 years old, Chef Hilda is embarking on a Herculean endeavour, striving to surpass the record set by Chef Lata London of Rewa, India, in 2019, which stands at an impressive 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.

The cook-a-thon is generously sponsored by GB Food, the renowned makers of Gino tomato paste, Ginomax, and Bama. Additional sponsors include Woodscope, Amore Gardens, Vendease, AfriGlobal, Uber, Arla Foods, CWAY, Filmhouse, ORIKI, and PowerOil. These partnerships demonstrate the significant support Chef Hilda has garnered for her remarkable feat.
