AKA’s Family Announces Date For His Burial Procession

AKA’s family has announced the dates for the burial procession of the late rapper who died on February 10th, 2023.

On Tuesday, 14th February 2023, AKA’s family revealed in a post on the late rapper’s official social media handles that he will be buried in a private ceremony on Saturday, 18th February 2023.

The announcement further revealed that a memorial will be held for the deceased rapper on Friday, 17th February 2023.

Recall that Prime Buisness Africa reported the AKA’s passing of who was shot on his birthday in Florida Durban on 10th February 2023. According to the police, his death is being investigated by the Kwazulu Natal ogranised crime division.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes,  known professionally as AKA, was a South African rapper. Born and raised in Cape Town, Forbes gained recognition after releasing his single “Victory Lap” from his debut studio album, Altar Ego (2010).

Forbes continued his success by releasing studio albums which include Levels (2014), Touch My Blood (2018), Bhovamania (2020), and the collaborative album with Anatii, titled Be Careful What You Wish For (2017).

In April 2018, Forbes was featured as a special guest on WWE Live events, which were held in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

On 6 November 2021, AKA’s EP, Bhovamania was released. The EP was supported by four singles: “Energy”, “Python”, “Monuments” and “Cross My Heart”. 

The burial announcement revealed that AKA’s father Mr. Tony Forbes has been appointed as the family spokesman regarding the death and burial of the late rapper.
