The event, held on July 28, 2023, at the Lome Airport, celebrated the strengthening of socio-economic ties between Togo and Nigeria and further highlighted the airline’s commitment to seamless air travel.

Speaking at the ceremony, Captain Godfrey Ogbogu, the Safety Manager of Air Peace, expressed the airline’s joy in expanding its route network with the addition of Lome, Togo.

He emphasized Air Peace’s mission to ease air travel and boost connectivity across West African nations. The new route to Togo marks the eighth regional destination added to Air Peace’s network within less than nine years of its establishment, a testament to the airline’s rapid growth and commitment to expanding its reach.

Captain Ogbogu highlighted the strong existing ties between Togo and Nigeria, both economically and socially. The commencement of flights to Lome is set to strengthen these bonds, fostering commercial cooperation and deeper bilateral relations.

With Nigerians frequently traveling to Togo for business and other purposes, the new air connectivity is expected to enhance economic exchange between the two countries, promoting development and mutual prosperity.

Air Peace’s no-city-left-behind initiative, which aims to connect various cities and regions, extends beyond domestic operations. The airline’s plan to interconnect key cities in the West Coast aligns with their vision to maximize the benefits of air travel for collective regional development.

Captain Ogbogu disclosed that the airline is already working on launching flights to Cotonou in Benin Republic, Abidjan in Cote d’Ivoire, Congo Kinshasa, and Malabo in Equatorial Guinea. These efforts will contribute to the seamless movement of people and goods across the sub-region.
