"Egun" Racks ₦6.1 Million During Opening Weekend

The Nigerian horror genre is celebrating another triumph as “Egun” climbs its way to the top three at the box office, raking in an impressive ₦6,116,200 between November 17 and 19, 2023. Despite a change in its release date from November 10 to November 17, the spine-chilling collaboration between Kayode Kasum and Dare Olaitan has proven to be a crowd-puller, captivating audiences nationwide.

Crafted under the production of Ife Olujuigbe, “Egun” unfolds a tale of corporate chaos sparked by an unexpected package infused with mystical powers. Carmen Ike Okoro’s directorial prowess has propelled the film into theaters across the country, securing its status as the most-watched Nigerian movie presently screening.
