The recently concluded Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards for the year 2023 in Osogbo witnessed a gathering of esteemed entertainment stakeholders, coming together to honor outstanding achievements in the industry.

Among the notable winners were Dimeji Ajibola’s “Shanty Town” and Toka Mcbaror’s “Underbelly,” both emerging as the biggest winners of the night.

The prestigious BON awards, covering works from August 2022 to August 2023, recognized various entertainment contributors, celebrating excellence in filmmaking. Notably, “Shanty Town” clinched the coveted Movie of the Year award, securing its place as a standout cinematic achievement.

Dimeji Ajibola, the creative force behind “Shanty Town,” received dual accolades for Best Actor in a Leading Role (English) and Best Actress in a Leading Role (English) for the movie.

The film also triumphed in additional categories, including Best Actress of the Year in a Supporting Role and Best Use of Make Up.

Toka Mcbaror’s “Underbelly” had a stellar night, walking away with four awards in various categories. The film secured the Director of the Year award, Best Use of Special Effect, Best in Production Design, and the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (English).
