Diddy Lawsuit: Video Shows Singer Assaulting Cassie In 2016

A new video has surfaced showing Sean “Diddy” Combs manhandling and kicking singer Cassie Ventura, his ex girlfriend, in full view of hotel surveillance cameras in 2016. This footage, obtained exclusively by CNN, emerged just as Combs settled a lawsuit Ventura filed against him this past November.

The video provides disturbing visual account of one of the beatings described in Ventura’s lawsuit, which Combs had consistently denied. Ventura’s lawsuit came to light shortly before federal authorities conducted a raid on Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March, as part of an ongoing sex-trafficking investigation.

The footage, captured at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles’s Century City neighbourhood, shows Combs exiting a room with a towel around his waist. He runs down a hallway after Ventura, forcefully grabs her by the neck, and throws her to the floor near a bank of elevators.

The video, which had not been publicly viewed before, shows Combs kicking Ventura twice and dragging her before walking away. Ventura is seen standing up, collecting some of her belongings from the floor, and picking up a telephone on the wall next to the elevators. Combs then returns, still clad in just a towel and socks, and shoves Ventura into a corner in front of a mirror, directly across from one of the security cameras that captured the assault.

The footage shows Combs throwing something at Ventura before beginning to walk away, only to return when an elevator door opens and someone appears to exit. Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, described the video as “gut-wrenching” and said it “further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr. Combs.”

“Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light,” Wigdor stated.
