In a statement posted on social media, Blinken made this known in a statement Blinken affirmed the United States’ support for Israel in its self-defense efforts and simultaneously highlighted the nation’s active commitment to ensuring humanitarian aid reaches Gaza’s vulnerable population.
Blinken emphasized that this aid is to deliver vital necessities such as food, water, and medicine, all of which have become increasingly scarce due to the crisis.
We stand with Israel as it defends itself. The United States is also actively working to ensure the people of Gaza can get out of harm’s way and the assistance they need — food, water, medicine — can get in. Hamas does not care if Palestinians suffer.

Gaza currently finds itself in the midst of a critical humanitarian crisis, grappling with severe shortages of essentials like water, electricity, food, fuel, and medical supplies.
The Rafah crossing, which serves as the primary conduit for humanitarian aid between Gaza and Egypt, has been largely closed for an extended period.
