Tunde Onakoya has started his journey today, aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest unbeaten chess marathon.

The challenge began at 10 am today at Times Square, New York, and is set to end at 8 pm on April 19th, spanning an incredible 58 hours.

On April 5th, Tunde shared his motivation for this endeavour on his social media platform: “Doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education.” His mission transcends personal achievement, aiming to shed light on the educational challenges faced by countless children in Africa.

The existing record, standing at 56 hours, 9 minutes, and 37 seconds, was set by Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad of Norway in 2018. Tunde’s attempt not only aims to break this record but also to inspire and create awareness about the cause close to his heart.
