The Federal Government unveiled the Startup Support and Engagement Portal on Tuesday. This development marks a crucial step in implementing the Nigeria Startup Act, aiming to bolster the nation’s burgeoning start-up ecosystem.

Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications Innovation and Digital Economy, made the announcement via his official account, emphasizing the portal’s role in identifying and aggregating Nigerian startups, venture capital firms, hubs, and innovation centres.

The platform is designed to facilitate meaningful engagement and support for all ecosystem stakeholders.

Tijani highlighted the portal’s pivotal role in establishing startup consultative forums, essential for selecting representatives to the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

This, he noted, would foster constructive discourse and consensus-building among Nigerian ecosystem players.

All Nigerian startups, venture capital firms, hubs, and innovation centers are invited to register on the portal, signaling a collective effort to strengthen the country’s digital innovation landscape.

The National Information Technology Development Agency echoed this sentiment, urging entities across the startup spectrum—startups, venture capital firms, angel investors, hubs, and innovation centres—to embrace the initiative.
