Kendrick Lamar Tops Billboard Hot 100 With 'Not Like Us'

In the ongoing rap beef between American Rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake, the latest instalment has Kendrick taking the lead as his track “Not Like Us” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In addition, Lamar’s “Euphoria” charts at No. 3 in its second week on the chart, while his previous hit “Like That” remains at No. 6.

This is Lamar’s fourth Hot 100 No. 1, solidifying his position as a heavyweight in the rap industry, with a total of 15 top 10 hits to his name.

The battle between Lamar and Drake has been brewing for over a decade, with it finally coming to light with the release of “Like That” in March, where Lamar’s verse appeared to contain jabs at Drake and J. Cole. Since then, the feud has drawn in other hip-hop luminaries such as A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), either as targets or active participants in the verbal sparring.

The Billboard Hot 100 ranks songs based on a combination of U.S. streaming, radio airplay, and sales data. “Not Like Us” stormed to the top with 70.9 million streams, 5 million radio audience impressions, and 15,000 units sold in the U.S. within its first week, despite being released late in the tracking period.

Lamar’s track also claimed the No. 1 spot on the Streaming Songs chart, marking his fifth chart-topper in this category. Its streaming numbers surpass previous records, making it the highest weekly total among R&B/hip-hop titles since YouTube user-generated content was excluded from chart calculations in 2020.
