Rivers State Crisis: Demolition At State House Of Assembly

The political crisis  in Rivers State escalated on Wednesday when approximately 10 bulldozers entered the premises of the state House of Assembly, initiating the demolition of the complex.

This development came after a session led by the factional Speaker, Edison Ehie, who, along with other lawmakers loyal to the governor, convened early on Wednesday prior to the commencement of the demolition.

During the session, Ehie explained that the complex required repairs due to the explosion that occurred on October 30, 2023. He assured the members that the governor would arrange an alternative location for their sessions in the interim.

The demolition is being carried out under heightened security measures.

Further details will be provided later…
