Mr. Ibu's Leg Amputated In Life-Saving Surgery

The family of renowned actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has revealed that a life-saving decision has been made to amputate one of his legs.

Back in October, distressing news emerged regarding the actor’s health condition, which prompted a call for financial support to assist in his treatment.

In a statement posted on the actor’s official Instagram page, the family disclosed that Mr. Ibu has undergone a series of medical procedures, including seven successful surgeries, culminating in the amputation of one of his legs to preserve his life.

The statement conveyed their gratitude to all well-wishers who had rallied to support their father during this challenging period, emphasizing that words alone could not express the depth of their appreciation. They acknowledged the unwavering assistance and contributions from countless individuals.

The statement explained, “As of 1 pm today, Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries, but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery, one of his legs had to be amputated. This development has been hard on us all, but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive.”

The family continues to appeal for support from compassionate Nigerians ,emphasizing the critical and delicate phase of Mr. Ibu’s recovery.

They expressed their deep gratitude to everyone who has lent their support and assistance, assuring that Mr. Ibu himself will personally acknowledge the contributions once he regains stability.
