Jumoke’s Death: Funke Akindele In Tears Amidst Accusation

The untimely demise of actress Aderounmu Adejumoke has stirred up a storm of emotions, particularly for her colleague Funke Akindele. Akindele, renowned for her role in the hit series Jenifa’s Diaries, was compelled to address the mounting allegations that she turned a blind eye to Adejumoke’s plight during her illness.

In an Instagram live session on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Akindele revealed her anguish over the situation. Contrary to claims suggesting her indifference, Akindele stressed that she had no prior knowledge of Adejumoke’s illness. The accusations reached a boiling point when a comment on her page wished for the unthinkable: “May you bury your children.”

Expressing her distress, Akindele emphasized her dedication to her fans and the painful repercussions of remaining silent in the face of such accusations. “I’m so unhappy,” she lamented, highlighting the relentless scrutiny fostered by social media.

Despite her professional association with Adejumoke, Akindele clarified that their relationship was strictly work-related. “She acted her role. Got paid and left,” she asserted, dispelling assumptions of a deeper connection.

The controversy escalated when Adejumoke’s brother, Adeola Aderounmu, insinuated that Akindele had been unresponsive to their family’s attempts for assistance.

Akindele, however, reiterated her commitment to helping others but emphasized her preference for discretion. “I give randomly. I see people doing stuff and support them,” she explained, affirming her willingness to aid if she had been aware of the situation.

Amidst the turmoil, Akindele bared her soul, sharing the personal challenges she has endured, from the loss of her mother, to the trials within her marriage. Despite facing relentless scrutiny and adversity, Akindele remains resolute in her dedication to her craft and her compassion for others.

“I don’t beef any filmmaker. I face my thing. The record I have been able to break is by the grace of God. Do not forget I have got my trying moments too. During COVID remember my mom passed on. Politics? I was backlashed. Marriage, remember? Somebody now said you will lose your children. I think that is too much”
