Nigerian comedian AY Makun has addressed rumours alleging a romantic relationship with ‘BBNaija’ star Alex Unusual, who recently returned to social media following a month-long break.

Alex Unusual made her return by posting a short video on Instagram. The clip featured a compilation of negative comments she had received, and she captioned it, “I’ll take the high road on my own terms. #Alexunusual.”

In response, AY Makun commented on Alex’s, “Above all. Please don’t do anything to my baby that you are carrying. We must entertain all the jobless people on social media.” His comment sparked a wave of reactions from other Instagram users, who joined in the banter.

One user remarked, “Yes sir she should keep it well what a comment sir I salute you, you are so wise ,” while another added, “Laugh wan wound me. Good job sir and congratulations in advance A lot of Nigerians need orientation in this space called ‘shosho’ media.”

The rumours about Alex Unusual’s relationship with AY Makun gained traction after gossip blogs linked her to the comedian’s marital issues. In April 2024, AY and his wife, Mabel Makun, announced their separation, which followed reports suggesting that their marriage was strained by AY’s alleged infidelity. According to these reports, Mabel had moved out of their home and was dealing with health issues attributed to her husband’s unfaithfulness.

Around the same time, speculation arose that Alex Unusual was expecting a child with AY, which led to her social media hiatus. Her recent return marks the first time she has addressed the public since the rumours began.
