Kaduna Undergraduate Faces Imprisonment Over Cybercrime

State High Court in Kaduna has ordered Nehemiah Joel to pay N60,000 or face 4 months imprisonment for cybercrime.

Nehemiah, a university undergraduate, paraded himself on social media as Chloer Adler, a female prostitute based in Dubai, United Arab Emirate, to defraud unsuspecting victims, especially middle-aged men.

He pleaded guilty to the charge, prompting the prosecution counsel, M.E Eimonye, to ask the court to convict the defendant accordingly.

However, the defence counsel, O.O Jeremiah urged the court to temper justice with mercy as the defendant is a student and first-time offender who has shown remorse for his actions.
