The days are numbered for the infamous unknown gunmen that have carried out series of killings and violent attacks in Southeast, as youth in Anambra have started raiding their hideouts.

The youths as revealed in a video circulating on social media, swooped on their camp at Ichi in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, destroyed it, and arrested some members of the criminal gang who have allegedly been operating in the area and nearby towns of Oba and Ojoto, killing, kidnapping and destroying properties.

The new state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo had offered amnesty to all violent agitators and warned that those who choose to remain in hideout and continue causing insecurity in the state will not be allowed to operate.

Soludo during his visit to Aguata Local Government headquarters that was razed by unknown gunmen on Thursday, said security forces had gone to smoke them out of their hideouts and some of the fleeing gang members came and burnt the secretariat in retaliation.

The governor reiterated his administration’s resolve not to allow criminal elements overrun the state.
This as some observers said, have jolted the youths into consciousness, making them to go in search of the criminals’ evil camps and consequently, destroying them.
