EditorONE, Chukwuebuka Osundu, 20 years from Umueze 2 in Ehime-mbano Council Area of Imo State been killed by his father and siblings for being stubborn.
The father, Lambert Osundu, 54 and his sister, Rachael Osundu, 24 has been arrested by the Police for his death.
Prime Business Africa gathered that the incident happened on Monday.
The victim was reportedly beaten to death by his father and his elder brother, Ndubuisi Osundu, who is currently at large.
They subsequently buried his corpse in a shallow grave beside their house in the night.
It was further gathered that the suspects had accused the deceased of being stubborn and indulging in vices that bring a bad name to the family.
“And to cover the crime, the suspects told victim’s friends and villagers that the deceased had travelled to Ghana in search of greener pasture.” a reliable source revealed.
It was also revealed that one of their relatives who sensed foul play over the sudden disappearance of the victim, informed some youths of the village who thereafter intensified his search.
An indigene of the village who spoke on basis of anonymity told our reporter that the late Osundu was the last child of the family of four. Their mother was said to have died a few years ago.
According to him, “when they were confronted by the youths of the community, his father, the culprit informed them that Chukwuebuka travelled to Ghana. But when the youths threatened to burn down his house, the daughter confessed to the crime.
“The family is presently at the Imo State Police Command whereas Philip the immediate elder brother of the deceased is on the run.
Micheal Abattam, the state Police spokesperson, confirmed that report said the matter was reported to the police by the Chairman of the village, Mr Robert Anyanwu.
“We have got the information that one Lambert Osundu, Ndubuisi Osundu and Rechael Osundu, all of Umuezeruagu village in Umueze 11 in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State beat their son to death and buried him in a shallow grave.
The victim is Chukwuebuka Osundu Osundu, aged, 20 years.
“At the moment, Lambert Osundu and Rechael Osundu have been arrested and detained. Though they are still in the custody of Isiala Mbano police station they will soon be transferred to the state CID.
“The matter is under investigation and if we conclude, definitely they are going to be charged to court for murder.” Abattam disclosed.
