July 20, 2025

In a major expansion of Nigeria’s international aviation footprint, Air Peace has announced it will commence direct flights from Abuja to both London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, starting 26 October 2025.

The move marks a historic milestone, positioning Air Peace as the first Nigerian airline to offer direct connectivity between Nigeria’s federal capital and the United Kingdom’s two busiest international gateways.

According to the airline, the new routes will be operated using its wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft. To commemorate the launch, Air Peace is offering introductory round-trip fares from ₦1 million, a gesture aimed at making international travel more accessible for Nigerian travelers.

“We are thrilled to introduce these direct services from Abuja to Heathrow and Gatwick,” said Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace. “This reflects our unwavering commitment to expanding international access and enhancing convenience for our valued passengers.”

The airline’s new service also introduces a hub-and-spoke model, allowing travelers from other Nigerian cities, including Enugu, Port Harcourt, Kano, Owerri, and Asaba, to connect to London via Abuja on a single ticket, without the need for multiple bookings or baggage re-checks.

This integrated travel solution, the airline said, is part of its broader strategy to streamline the passenger experience and increase Nigeria’s competitiveness in global aviation.

Air Peace emphasized that the new flights are expected to significantly boost business travel, tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Industry analysts see the move as a positive development amid ongoing calls for more competitive international flight options and reduced dependency on foreign carriers.

Tickets for the new Abuja–London routes are now available on the airline’s official website and through accredited travel agencies nationwide.
