Amanze Chinonye
President Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate comprising 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career appointees to Nigerian diplomatic missions across the world and the United Nations.
The development was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the envoys had earlier been confirmed by the Senate of Nigeria in December.
According to the presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nigeria has already received agrément from the United Kingdom for the High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, while France has granted agrément for Ambassador Ayo Oke.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelThe ministry has also transmitted the nominations of the remaining envoys to their respective host countries for diplomatic clearance in line with international practice.
President Tinubu also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately commence the induction programme for all ambassadors-designate and high commissioners ahead of their deployment.
