Anambra Decides 2025: Obiefuna Urges Voters to Uphold Integrity as Poll Nears Closing Hours

November 8, 2025

As voting continues across Anambra State and the governorship election heads into its final hours, prominent legal practitioner and community figure, Chief Austin Arinze Obiefuna, has issued a renewed call for voters to act with responsibility, calm, and civic honour.

In a statement released on Saturday, Obiefuna described the ongoing election as a defining moment for the future of the state, urging citizens to remain guided by the values that have long shaped Anambra’s reputation for excellence and enterprise.

“This election is not about tribe, favour, or sentiment. It is about issues, vision, competence, and character,” he said, stressing the need for voters to support candidates with strong credentials and a genuine record of service.

He encouraged citizens to stay focused on facts rather than propaganda and to allow unity and hope to guide their decisions as voting winds down. “Great states are built by citizens who rise above emotion to defend truth, justice, and good governance,” the statement read.

Obiefuna also appealed for peace as the process approaches its close, urging voters to protect their ballots, maintain order, and allow their conscience to lead.

“Together, let us make a choice that honours our past and secures our future, a future of opportunity, development, and dignity for every Anambra son and daughter,” he said.

The Umuoji-born lawyer and traditional titleholder, known as Ichie Nwakaibie, signed the statement as a “concerned citizen and son of the soil,” praying for the continued peace and progress of both Anambra State and Nigeria.
