Air Peace Shatters Barriers With Historic Boost to KNOSK 100NairaADay School

November 24, 2025

Air Peace has made a landmark intervention at the KNOSK (Knowledge, Skill and Kreativity) 100NairaADay Secondary School in Kuje, Abuja, becoming the first major Nigerian corporate organisation to support the low-cost learning initiative since its establishment in 2019.

The airline’s donation which includes laptops for a planned Computer-Based Testing (CBT) centre and one-year scholarships for 20 students marks what school authorities described as “the breaking of a longstanding jinx,” after years of struggling to attract local corporate backing despite earlier support from foreign missions.

Founded with just 30 students, KNOSK now educates more than 180 children, many from families unable to afford even the symbolic ₦100 daily fee. Despite these challenges, the school has recorded notable academic success, including a 100% WAEC pass rate for its pioneer graduates and multiple students scoring above 200 in JAMB.

Air Peace’s support arrived at a critical moment as Nigeria transitions to full CBT for major examinations. The school, which urgently required laptops to prepare students for the digital shift, was able to procure additional systems toward establishing its own CBT centre.

Representing the airline, Communications Analyst Hawa Oyinloye Alege said Air Peace was proud to invest in a space “where determination, hope, and hard work are persistent,” adding that despite the challenges the students face, “their dreams have not been held back.”

The scholarship component of the intervention provides vital relief for parents unable to meet the ₦240,000 annual school fee. SS3 student Patience Omuata, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, saying the gesture would change lives.

For SS1 student Vivian Odizwe, the laptops arrived just in time: “Seeing that there is a high probability that next year, WAEC will be CBT… with this, we can practice, write our exams, and learn other digital skills.”

Co-founder of KNOSK, Kingsley Bangwell, said the donation provided both financial support and institutional validation. “We have received support from the embassies of Ireland, Finland, and the United States. But we had never seen a major Nigerian corporate body step forward. Air Peace has become part of the children’s story,” he said.

His co-founder, Irene Bangwell, described the airline’s chairman as a symbol of courage and a relatable model for the students, noting his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most daring entrepreneurs.

The gesture adds to Air Peace’s expanding record of humanitarian support. On May 27, the airline partnered with Raising Star Africa to support children living with disabilities through educational aid, essential resources, and grants under the “This Ability” programme.

With its latest intervention, Air Peace reinforces its image not only as a dominant force in Nigeria’s aviation sector, but as a socially responsible institution committed to expanding opportunities for vulnerable children and strengthening Nigeria’s educational landscape.
