Thousands of worshippers from across Nigeria and beyond are expected to converge on Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island, tonight as The Experience, one of the world’s largest gospel concerts, stages its landmark 20th edition.
This year’s concert, themed “JESUS UNITED,” marks two decades of uninterrupted Christian worship gatherings hosted annually by the House On The Rock Church.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and run throughout the night into early Saturday morning, continuing the tradition of marathon praise, worship, prayer and musical ministration that has become synonymous with The Experience.

Organisers say tonight’s anniversary concert will feature a rich blend of internationally acclaimed and homegrown gospel ministers. Among the expected performers are Travis Greene, Chevelle Franklyn, Israel Houghton, Sinach, Dunsin Oyekan, Mercy Chinwo, Onos Ariyo, Moses Bliss, and Mr M & Revelation, alongside several others.
As in previous editions, attendance is free, with organisers describing the concert as an inclusive gathering open to all faith-filled attendees.
To ease the anticipated surge in traffic into Lagos Island, the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has extended the operating hours of the Blue Line rail service, with the last train departing at 11:43 p.m. tonight. Train operations will resume at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday to aid post-event movement.
Security and emergency logistics have been reinforced around TBS, with a coordinated deployment involving law enforcement agencies, medical teams, and crowd-control personnel to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
The Experience, widely regarded as Africa’s largest gospel music gathering, is expected to draw tens of thousands physically and many more via livestreams worldwide. As the lights come on over TBS tonight, Lagos will once again take centre stage in a global night of worship marking 20 years of a concert that has grown into a cultural and spiritual landmark.
