Air Peace Connects Africa, Caribbean with New Monthly Charter Flights

October 19, 2025

Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has announced the launch of a new charter service connecting West Africa to the Caribbean, marking a historic milestone in intercontinental air connectivity between both regions.

The airline said the new route Lagos–Accra–Antigua & Barbados with onward connections to Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago will commence on December 21, 2025, making Air Peace the first African carrier to offer direct flights from West and Central Africa to the Caribbean.

In a statement issued in Lagos by its Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Efe Osifo-Whiskey, the airline described the development as a significant step in strengthening economic, tourism, and cultural ties between Africa and the Caribbean.

“This initiative aligns with Air Peace’s vision to connect Africa to major global destinations and deepen the relationship between people of African descent across continents,” Osifo-Whiskey said.

He added that the airline would operate the service as a monthly commercial charter, with plans for full scheduling in the future depending on passenger demand and regulatory approvals.

According to verified reports the Caribbean route will build on the airline’s previous intercontinental expansions, including the historic direct flight from Abuja to St. Kitts and Nevis in June 2025, and earlier charter flights from Lagos to Montego Bay, Jamaica, in 2020.

The upcoming flights are being operated in partnership with top African and Caribbean travel and tour operators, including Tour Brokers International, Sun Seekers Tours, and Adansi Travels, which will offer curated holiday packages and cultural experiences around the route.

Industry analysts in an interview with Prime Business Africa have described the new route as a strategic breakthrough for African aviation, potentially boosting tourism and trade between Africa and Caribbean nations that share historical and cultural roots.

While the flights are currently categorized as monthly charters, Air Peace has hinted at the possibility of transitioning to a scheduled if the demand remains strong.

As of press time, the airline is finalizing operational logistics, including ticket pricing, visa facilitation, and regulatory approvals from aviation authorities in Nigeria and the Caribbean.

If successful, the Lagos–Caribbean connection will become a major gateway linking two continents long connected by heritage but divided by distance now brought closer by Air Peace’s expanding wings.
