Anambra Police, Vigilante Group Raid Criminal Gang Camp, Rescue Kidnap Victim, Kill Four Suspects

In a daring operation, the Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with the Anambra State Vigilante Group, has successfully dislodged a terrorist camp in Awa, Orumba North Local Government Area.

According to police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the joint security team rescued a kidnapped victim who had been held hostage despite a ransom payment of ₦20 million.

The operation, which lasted over 15 hours, resulted in the neutralization of four suspects and the recovery of several exhibits, including:

Arms:

  • 2 pump action guns
  • 1 fabricated AK-47 rifle
  • 1 K2 assault rifle
  • 1 locally made hunter gun

Vehicles:

  • 1 black Lexus RX 350 Jeep
  • 3 Toyota Camry cars.

Other items:

  • Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)
  • radio transmission box
  • sleeping materials.

The kidnapped victim was freed after being held hostage in the camp.

The Commissioner of Police has assured the public that the command remains committed to ensuring safety and security in the state.

The police are currently tracking down other fleeing suspects and working to destroy other criminal camps in the state.
