FIFA Ranking: Super Falcons Unmoved, Earn Minimal Points After friendlies

It was a standstill situation for Super Falcons in the latest FIFA ranking. The Nigerian senior national women team retained their 36th position but gained minimal point of +1.2. The team had accumulated 1621.29 in the previous ranking but now has 1622.49 points as per the latest release.

During this ranking period, the Super Falcons participated in three friendly matches, achieving impressive victories against Algeria, winning 2-0 and 4-1. However, they faced a setback with a close 2-1 loss to France’s Les Bleues last month. Falcons however maintained the number one spot in Africa with South Africa’s Banyana Banyana

Despite this, the Super Falcons continue to lead the African continent in women’s football, with South Africa’s Banyana Banyana following in the second place, 2025 WAFCON and AFCON hosts Morocco are in the third position with Copper Queens of Zambia and Black Queens of Ghana rounding up the top five in Africa. South Africa, Morocco, Zambia and Ghana are ranked 53, 61,62 and 65 in the world respectively.

United States top the world ranking followed by Spain, Germany, England and Sweden. Canada, Brazil Japan, Korea DPR and Netherlands conclude the top 10 in the world. Estonia were recorded as the biggest climbers in the latest ranking moving up eight places.

Meanwhile, the Super Falcons will know their fate on Monday as they are top contenders for CAF National women team of the year. The winner of the category will be announced on Monday in Marrakech Morocco.

The Falcons are expected to battle it out with South Africa and Morocco respectively.
