Call it a breath of fresh air, and you would be right, as Super Eagles and embattled Napoli star, Victor Osimhen headed  for Turkey with intent to complete a loan deal with Galatasaray.

Napoli approved the loan deal, further confirming Antonio Conte desire to rather work with Romelu Lukaku as opposed to Victor Osimhen this season.

Osimhen’s hydra-headed transfer  raised a lot of dusts and interests but eventually crashed as the transfer window closed on 31st, August.

The development thus put the 25-year-old at the risk of being frozen out by Napoli. Should the Gala loan deal pull through, it would be at least a temporary escape for the former Lille star who still has contract running till 2026 with Napoli.

The escape window will provide him a place he can focus on in the game, put the disappointment of transfer aside for now and also keep him busy ahead of the next transfer window likely to re-open new opportunities for permanent move out of Napoli

Confirming Osimhen’s trip, football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote via his X account that the player is on a private jet to complete the loan move.

“Victor Osimhen’s private flight, on its way to Istanbul right now,” Romano wrote on Monday evening.

Recall that Osimhen submitted a transfer request to Napoli ahead of this summer. Osimhen had the assurance that one of the big clubs in Europe would come for him, even though the contract he signed with Napoli in December came with a €130 million release clause.

The Turkish transfer window remains open until 13th September, providing a potential timeframe for the completion of this loan deal.

With Osimhen still seeking a landing spot for the new season, it is apparent that he will not be available as Super Eagles begin the next phase of AFCON qualifies against Benin Republic and Rwanda on September 7 and 10 respectively.

More facts are expected to emerge in the tripartite Gala-Osimhen-Napoli romance in coming hours and days.
