Oshiomhole who cast his vote at Iyamho, Ward 10, Unit 01, in Estako West Local Government further gave reasons why the Edolites should return governance of the state to APC, saying “All structures that I have put in place 12, 13 years ago are still there but the ones put up by the present administration, in one year, they are washed off”

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote, the former Labour leader debunked allegations of vote buying asking his listeners whether they have seen any evidence of vote buying in the course of covering the election.

“It is laughable when I hear this kind of allegation. You have been here did you see anywhere where they are sharing money? People turned out in large numbers to vote for us because they wanted good government. During our campaign, people came out to see me not because I wanted to give them something but because of what I have done for them while I was in the office as the governor.”

The Edo election has been dubbed the battle of God Fathers as incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki squares up against former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Although 17 political parties are battling for the soul of Edo State today, three of the political parties namely APC which some say have “heavy backing ” from APC controlled Federal government, PDP currently in power in the state under Governor Godwin Obaseki and Labour Party enjoying the backing of Labour Party Candidate in the 2023 Presidential Election Peter Obi on one hand and banking on the earth quacking impact of the Labour party in that election are at the forefront.

The eventual winner unless a miracle occurs according to political analysts, is expected to emerge from one of the parties in the three horse- race.
