The Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw by their Rwandan counterparts in the AFCON 2025 qualifier, which ended few minutes ago at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

The very cautious encounter saw both sides, bag two yellow cards each with Nigeria’s yellow cards going to Simon Chukwueze in the 26th minute and  Ola Aina in the three minutes of added time of the first half. Rwandan duo of Jean Niyomugabo and Djihad Bizimana were equally yellow card recipients in the encounter.

Although the Eagles dominated proceedings in both first and second halves of the game, there were no goals to show for their efforts. Rwandan goalkeeper, Fiacre Ntwari stood like the rock of Gibraltar making as many as nine saves as Eagles fired from all angles with intent to run away with three points to no avail.

The only goal the 24-year-old Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa conceded was a beautiful attempt by Lookman in the 21st minute, which the referee canceled due to an offside offense.
