Super Eagles and Galatasaray forward, Victor Osimhen, is set to face Cheetahs of Benin and Amavubi of Rwanda in the last lap of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Osimhen, who missed the last set of matches, including the lone goal defeat of Libya in Uyo and was spared the migraine of the botched match of the second leg in Benina, due to injury, is now fully back in action and has since been delivering for the Turkish Süper Lig side.

The former Napoli star has so far netted 10 goals for Gala, his latest being a photo finish at the Europa league on Thursday, where he grabbed a brace in Gala’s 3-2 victory over Tottenham  in Istanbul.

The Turkish champions have 10 points from four games and have all but secured qualification for at least the knock-out play-off round, while Spurs sit in seventh place after losing their 100-per cent record.

Osimhen, who has been included in Austin Eguavoen’s 22-man Squad for the double encounter, will no doubt be busting the team with his current form as they seek to seal qualification for Morocco 2025 with panache.

Also included in the squad is Ballon d ‘Or 14th position finisher, Ademola Lookman, who is still running for this year’s African footballer of the year and an impressive run for both club and country last season. The regulars, Captain William Troost-Ekong, Moses Simon and equally in-form goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, who recently extended his contract at Chippa United to 2027, were not left out.

The Eagles will take on Cheetahs of Benin Republic at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan on November 14 before taking on the Amavubis in the final match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on November 18.

The Super Eagles will depart for Abidjan on November 11 for the clash against Cheetahs three days before the showdown.

Currently leading Group D, the Super Eagles have the opportunity to secure their place in the final tournament with just a point against Benin, which would bring their tally to 11 points.

Recall that the Eagles garnered points before additional three points came in courtesy of  CAF Disciplinary Board’s decision to award them three points and three goals from the botched Libya versus Nigeria match.
