Miss Universe Nigeria: Who Will The Crown Fit Tonight?

If there is one place to be this weekend in fact tonight, it is the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, as 25 beauty Queens file out in this year’s Miss Universe Nigeria final contest.

Miss Chidinma Adetshina, who made it to the final 11 of the recently concluded Miss South Africa Universe is among the contestants in the Nigerian version, which is sure to attract Creme dela creme of the society to  VI tonight.

The Nigeria-South African who is representing Taraba State, however has 24 other beauties to battle with.

Whoever emerges winner today, will not only go home with N10 million and other goodies, but will also represent Nigeria at the 73rd edition of Miss Universe 2024 pageant, to be held at the Arena CDMX, Mexico City, Mexico on 16th November 2024.

At that event, reigning Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, will crown her successor.

As part of the contest tonight, each contestant is expected to showcase her unique vision and aspirations of holding the Miss Universe Nigeria title, as panel of judges take note for final decision.

This edition has seen the inclusion of married women, Single mothers and divorced ladies.

Primebusiness.africa, understands that popular singer Noon Dave alongside Qing Madi will be thrilling the audience with live performances, with Noon Dave sure to set the stage on fire with his latest song, “Pressure”, while Qing Madi who gained widespread recognition after her 2022 single “See Finish” and its 2023 follow-up, “Ole” will also pop up the volume.

About 76 beautiful ladies have already been confirmed to contest for the crown in Mexico in November. Three slots are yet to be filled on the list of 76 entries already recorded, for the Mexico showdown, that of Nigeria that will emerge tonight, Cayman Islands and Uruguay.

African countries with their representatives already listed include: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, DR Congo and Cameroon. Others are Mauritius, Senegal and Trinidad and Tobago.

More contestants will emerge in September when other countries including Singapore, India, Denmark, Botswana Hong Kong and Brazil to mention just a few conclude their national pageants.

Miss Universe was first held in 1952 with  17 year old Armi Kuusela beating 29 other contestants to emerge winner.
