Nigerian rapper and actor, Folarin Falana better known as Falz, has hauled pebbles at insinuations that he has a relationship with controversial crossdresser Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju aka Bobrisky.
There had been claims and insinuations linking the Falz romantically with the controversial crossdresser, following a leaked phone call that stirred reactions online in 2024.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelThe video, which trended on social media, was first posted by online critic, VeryDarkMan, who alleged that Falz was in close contact with Bobrisky during the crossdresser’s time behind bars.
Falz who is son of human right lawyer Femi Falana (SAN),while addressing the issue on Arise TV on Wednesday night, maintained that he had no relationship with Bobrisky, adding that the said the conversation was taken out of context and had nothing to do with a relationship.
According to the rapper he had only tried to help Bobrisky after he reached out to him for assistance with his case. The something light originator revealed that many people come to him for help and that Bobrisky case was not exceptional.
This clarification comes amid Falz’s ongoing defamation suit against social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), who leaked an alleged phone conversation between Falz and Bobrisky while Bobrisky was in prison.
Falz noted that VDM has yet to enter a defense in the court case, despite the suit being ongoing.
He expressed regret over helping Bobrisky, stating that the experience has made him more cautious about assisting others in the future.

“Update on the court case, very much still in court. There’s a substantive suit which myself and my dad are alleging defamation. We filed the case and ever since we filed the case, they have never entered the defense. Instead, they entered a preliminary objection saying the court doesn’t have jurisdiction to hear the case or something.
“As at the last date, I was in court. The court has thrown out that preliminary objection. Now they have to enter a defense or the court will just go on to rule on the case. So that’s the update. I can’t really say much about the subject of current litigation, so I will leave it there.

“I never had any relationship with Bobrisky prior to that phone call. He messaged me on Instagram and said, ‘I’m in this case and I want to speak to you about how you can help.’ And you know, thousands of people messaged me about similar stuff like that. This is not a special case; it’s not exceptional in any way.
“In a lot of those cases, I will give them an audience, like what is the Problem, how can I help? Compassionately, little did I know.
Anyways, as they say, once bitten, twice shy. At the end of the day, I’m not going to, maybe I’m not going to help anyone again in my life, but maybe I will be much more conscious,” said Falz who in the 2019 and 2020 Headies carted away four awards, Best Rap single with ‘Talk’Best Rap Album and Album of the year with “Moral instruction” and Best Rap Single with “Bop Daddy” featuring Ms Banks.
