Nigeria’s hard fighting Women Basketball team, D’Tigress, lost 75-54 to France in their second group match Thursday evening.

The Rena Wakanma tutored side won the opening game against Australia and were hoping to consolidate against France, but could not realise the dream despite putting up spirited effort.

The team will however be looking forward to the last group match against Canada, on Sunday, with intent to do well and progress to the next stage.

The team made history after beating Australia, the first time the Nigerian women basketball team will be winning a match at the Olympics in two decades.

The last match against Canada promises to be full of fireworks as the Nigerian side has shown a lot of determination since arriving Paris for the 33rd Olympics.

In other matches played Thursday, Germany beat Japan 75-64, while Australia bounced back, beating Canada 70-65.
