Africa Arts Entertainments Award: Wizkid Gets Seven Nominations

Wizkid set for Africa Arts Entertainment Award

Nigerian Afrobeat star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, is set to garner more feathers to his cap after he was nominated for seven awards, ahead of the  prestigious Africa Arts Entertainments Award (AAEA).

The annual event celebrates outstanding achievements in the music industry across Africa.

Wizkid’s nominations include top honours such as Continental Artist of the Year and Best Continental Male Artist.

His  acclaimed project “S2” is also up for Continental Album/EP of the Year.

The Grammy-winning artist is also recognised for his collaborative efforts, with nods for Best Continental Intl Feature for “Work Me Out” and Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit for “IDK”. Also nominated for best continental Afro RnB Hit  are his singles “Money & Love” and “Ebelebe” The AAEA award ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 17, 2024, in Kenya.

Wizkid is a regular to nominations and awards. He is the most awarded artiste in The Headies award history. He was nominated in the Best Global Music Album and the Best Global Music Performance categories in the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Made in Lagos Deluxe Edition and “Essence” respectively. In November 2021, Apple Music Awards announced him as the winner of Artist of the Year (Africa).

Wizkid it will be recalled recently described his album “MORAYO” as the best album he ever made. The album dedicated to his mother is a 12-track project that features collaborations with other Nigerian artists, including Shallipopi, Odumodublvck, and Omah Lay.

“MORAYO!! Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here,” he wrote while unveiling the album.
