Four suspects are now in custody over the brutal killing of 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver, Isaac David Satlat, whose body was discovered in Pretoria West last week, Prime Business Africa reports.

Three suspects appeared before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges of murder, hijacking, robbery and related offences. Dashcam footage from the vehicle, which later circulated widely on social media, allegedly captured two passengers assaulting and strangling the victim inside his car. Police said the video evidence played a key role in tracking down and arresting the suspects.

His body and hijacked vehicle were found dumped in Atteridgeville on the same day of the attack.

According to local reports, Satlat had been completing an automotive mechanical engineering internship and was due to graduate next month. His family has since launched efforts to repatriate his remains to Nigeria for burial.

Outside the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court, e-hailing drivers and community members gathered to demand justice, as the case continues to draw attention in both Nigerian and South African communities.

Law enforcement authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing. With the fourth suspect now in custody, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to four.

The case has sparked outrage within Nigerian and South African communities, with calls for swift justice as the matter proceeds through the courts.
