President Tinubu has forwarded 21 nominees to the Senate for confirmation to the boards of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
NUPRC Key Appointments:
- Chairman: Senator Magnus Abe, former NNPC board member and Rivers South East senator.
- Non-Executive Commissioners: Engineer Paul Yaro Jezhi, Mr Sunday Adebayo Babalola.
- Executive Commissioners: Muhammed Sabo Lamido (Finance), Edu Inyang (Exploration & Acreage), Justin Ezeala (Economic Regulation), Henry Darlington Oki (Development & Production), Indabawa Bashari Alka (Corporate Services), Mahmood Tijani (Health, Safety & Environment).
- Secretary & Legal Adviser: Ms Olayemi Adeboyejo.

- Chairman: Mr Adegbite Ebiowei Adeniji, energy lawyer and former World Bank adviser.
- Non-Executive Members: Chief Kenneth Kobani, Mrs Asabe Ahmed.
- Executive Directors: Abiodun Adeniji (Finance), Francis Ogaree (Hydrocarbon), Oluwole Adama (Midstream & Downstream Gas Infrastructure), Dr Mustapha Lamorde (Corporate Services), Yahaya Nasamu Yinusa (Distribution), Adeyemi Murtala Aminu (Corporate Services), Modie Ogechukwu (Economic Regulation).
- Board Secretary & Legal Adviser: Barrister Olawale Dawodu.
The nominations follow the recent confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan as NUPRC CEO and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as NMDPRA CEO. President Tinubu urged the Senate to approve the nominees promptly and charged them to regulate Nigeria’s oil and gas sector professionally.
