President Tinubu on Monday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining economic reforms aimed at boosting prosperity and improving the livelihoods of Nigerians, as he commended Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for executing what he described as impactful development projects, Prime Business Africa reports.
Tinubu spoke in Yola during a one-day official visit to the state, where he commissioned several projects undertaken by the Fintiri administration.
The President said ongoing macroeconomic reforms were beginning to yield measurable results nationwide, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare and infrastructure. He noted that improved fiscal policies had enhanced federal allocations to states, enabling them to deliver more development projects.

“We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must be able to feed ourselves and feed the country,” Tinubu said, while emphasising the need for continued collaboration between the Federal Government and subnational governments.
Describing the synergy between the two tiers of government as encouraging, the President said such cooperation was critical to achieving broader macroeconomic stability and national development.

Tinubu praised Fintiri for deploying resources to projects that directly impact residents, including road infrastructure and educational facilities. He specifically highlighted the construction of an eight-lane road with an underpass designed to ease traffic congestion and stimulate commerce, as well as a modern High Court complex aimed at strengthening the administration of justice.
“I’ve seen a tremendous amount of renewal and commitment from you in investments in the education of our children,” the President said, commending the governor’s vision for the state.
He also urged state governments across the country to channel more resources into poverty alleviation programmes, particularly through improving access to quality education.
Tinubu further acknowledged the role of traditional and religious leaders in maintaining peace and harmony in Adamawa, noting that unity was essential amid ongoing economic and political reforms.
The President lauded the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as committed and effective in leading efforts to combat banditry and terrorism.
Earlier in his remarks, Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation to the President for visiting the state and commissioning the projects. He disclosed that 21 model schools were constructed across the state’s 21 local government areas at a cost of N24.8 billion.
According to the governor, the expanded Galadima Aminu Road, featuring an overhead bridge and underpass, alongside the dualised Gimba Road with reinforced concrete drains, cost N15.6 billion. He added that the remodelled State High Court Complex A and D cost N5.5 billion, while the newly constructed Government House office complex was completed at N6.3 billion.
Fintiri commended Tinubu’s economic reforms and assured him of the continued support of the state government and the people of Adamawa.
The event was attended by five governors, including Agbu Kefas of Taraba State; Babagana Zulum of Borno State; Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State; Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State; and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, as well as ministers and other senior government officials.
