President Tinubu has ordered the military, the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) to track down and apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State, Prime Business Africa reports.
The directive, issued on Sunday, was addressed to the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of the DSS. The President also instructed security agencies to urgently rescue all victims abducted during the attack.
The assault, which left several villagers dead and women and children abducted, was carried out by terrorists suspected to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states following a United States air strike on Christmas Eve.

President Tinubu strongly condemned the killings and abductions, describing them as a direct challenge to Nigeria’s resolve, and vowed that the perpetrators and their collaborators would be brought to justice.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down,” the President said.
“They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice.”
He conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Niger State.
The President assured residents that security agencies have been mandated to intensify operations in vulnerable areas, particularly communities located near forests known to serve as hideouts for criminal elements.
He also urged Nigerians to remain united in the face of the tragedy, warning against divisive rhetoric that could undermine national security and cohesion.
“These times demand our humanity. We must stand together as one people and confront these monsters in unison,” Tinubu said, adding that Nigeria must reclaim peace and security in the affected communities.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on January 4, 2026.
