Shooting Stars and Rangers International will today lock horns at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, in one of the mid-week matches of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The Oluyole Warriors, who are fourth on the ladder, with 56 points in 35 matches, go head to head against table toppers, Rangers, who only few days back, claimed the maximum three points at stake in their troubled derby against Enyimba, following NPFL verdict.

The flying Antelopes, thus go into today’s encounter comfortably, leading the pack with 64 points in 35 matches played so far.

The battle for the top of the league is not just about winning the league, but also about picking the ticket to represent the country in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, respectively.

Rangers on their part, won three of their last five matches, drew one, interestingly against same Shooting Stars and lost one against Rivers United.

Second placed Enyimba, still feeling the pains of NPFL N10million fine, will hope to push that aside as they host Bayelsa United in Aba, while Bendel Insurance, sometimes dubbed Benin Arsenals, host Rivers United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin. Other fixtures lined up today are:

Gombe United vs Abia Warriors.

Akwa United vs Kastina United.

Remo Stars vs Heartland.

Niger Tornadoes vs Lobi Stars.

Kwara United vs Kano Pillars.

Sporting Lagos vs Plateau United.
