October 2, 2025

The League of Anambra Professionals (LAP) has rolled out a scholarship initiative to support brilliant but financially disadvantaged students of Anambra origin who are unable to pursue higher education due to lack of funds.

The scheme, tagged “Future Forward Scholarship Program,” is targeted at candidates who have successfully passed their JAMB examinations but are hindered by financial constraints from advancing to university.

LAP described the scholarship as one of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects aimed at giving hope to young Ndi Anambra and strengthening the state’s human capital base through education.

The deadline for submission is October 15, 2025.

Speaking at the unveiling, LAP President, Sir Nnamdi Obi, who is also a pharmacist and CEO of Embassy Pharmaceuticals, emphasized that the program goes beyond financial support.

“This Future Forward Scholarship Scheme is part of our efforts to empower promising youths who would otherwise be denied the opportunity of higher education. By investing in these young people, we are investing in the future of Anambra State. We are shaping a generation of leaders, innovators, and change makers,” he said.

Sir Obi further noted that the initiative is “more than financial aid; it is hope for brilliant youths who might otherwise be denied education,” adding that it represents the group’s modest effort in securing the future of Ndi Anambra through education.

The organization also appealed to churches, schools, traditional rulers, and community leaders to help spread the information to ensure that the scholarship reaches the most deserving students across the state.
